Salon Symphony automatically groups users by Position and Location as they join. Learn how you can create custom groups and group chat channels below.
- Default Groups (automated): ie. Stylist, Manager, Atlanta
- Custom Groups (manual, created on desktop): ie. Leadership Team, Mentors
- Mobile Group Chats (manual, created on mobile): ie. 5 Star Reviews, Supplies Needed, Backorders

Default Groups
The following groups are automatically generated by Salon Symphony:
- Job Titles: Every user must belong to at least one Job Title.
- Locations: Every user must belong to at least one Location.
Default groups can be found in alphabetical order under Groups in the Recipients dropdown field.
Custom Groups
Custom groups help you further organize specific team members who meet certain criteria or serve a special need. When you create a custom group, these groups can referenced in the "Recipients" dropdown when you assign a task, post an event, add a resource, and so on.
