Heads Up: This article is specific to the Admin Dashboard. To learn how to start a group chat on the Mobile App, please see this article. 

Learn how to view and send DMs (direct messages) from your Dashboard.

Chat Inbox 

To view and send messages from your Chat Inbox, follow the steps below: 

1. Next to your profile picture, click the chat icon   at the top right of the screen.
2. The left-hand side is your inbox with a preview of your existing chats.
3. To compose a new message, click the new chat    next to Inbox.
4. In the Send to field, choose a recipient. 
5. At the bottom, type your message in the input field.
6. Click the    to the right.

Direct Messages (from Popup)

To send a direct message to a member in your workspace, follow these steps:

1. From anywhere in your Dashboard, hover over a member's profile photo.
2. An overlay will appear with two options:
   • View Profile: sends you to the member's profile page
   • Message: opens the DM chat window.
3. Click Message.
4. Type your message in the input field.
5. Click the send icon    to the right.
